Melt Away Stress and More with Massage Therapy from Dunwoody Chiropractor

An effective massage can melt away stress, and it can also do a whole lot more. Dunwoody Chiropractic Center offers massage therapy on its own or as a supplement to our chiropractic techniques because of its many benefits. Our chiropractor Dr. Munira Patel designs treatment and wellness programs to help you achieve and maintain optimum health, and massage can be an integral part of a program.

Massage Benefits Include Alleviating Neck Pain, Back Pain, and Other Agony

Dunwoody massage relieves pain and stressIn addition to relieving stress, one of the most obvious benefits of message is its ability to help alleviate pain. Neck pain and back pain are two major reasons people visit our clinic, and the pain can result from a number of different causes. If the pain arises from a sprain, strain or other musculoskeletal injury, massage can help. Deep tissue massage can be particularly effective for damaged muscle, as it focuses on the deeper connective tissue and muscles. Trigger-point massage is another pain-relief method, helping to relax and unknot the fibrous masses that can result from muscle over-use or injury.

Muscle stiffness can also be alleviated from massage, as can anxiety and depression. Because massage increases the blood flow to a specific area, it has also been useful for helping to control blood pressure and speed up healing to damaged and injured tissues. Other benefits of including massage in a chiropractic care treatment program are seen when massage is administered as part of a physical therapy program to strengthen and regain full flexibility and functioning of the affected or injured area.

Our Dunwoody clinic provides treatments for a number of issues, but we also have a strong focus on wellness care. This approach helps you stay in the healthiest shape possible rather than only offer treatment when a health issue arises. Massage fits into both types of treatment programs and may bring the relief from pain and stress you have been seeking.

What benefits have you experienced from massage?

Discussing Common Auto Accident Injuries

We help many patients with auto accident injuries here at our Dunwoody Chiropractic Clinic, and one of the injuries that we treat most often is whiplash. Our Dunwoody chiropractor and clinic staff are pleased to help you find non-invasive, non-surgical solutions to auto accident injury pain. Part of helping our patients is making sure that the nature of the injury is understood fully, so today we are tacking the "whiplash" topic, and discussing exactly what it is and why it hurts.

What Causes Whiplash?

Whiplash is generally the result of auto accident injuries but it can also be caused by sports injuries or even roller coasters. When the body goes through a serious trauma like the impact that happens during a rear Dunwoody chiropractor treats whiplash and auto injury patientsend motor vehicle collision, the neck is often thrown painfully forward or back. This unexpected movement can cause a lot of pain and complications, one of the most notable of which is whiplash. Even minor "fender benders" and very small impacts (the ones where you initially think you are just fine) can result in whiplash injuries. Sports injuries in which you have an impact with another person or object are another cause of whiplash.

Whiplash exhibits through a number of different symptoms. The most frequently seen are pain in the neck, pain in the back, dizziness, and headaches. This happens due to the very quick extension and flexion of the neck that occurs upon sudden impact or a jerky motion. Due to this ultra rapid extension and flexion, the tendons, ligaments, and muscles in and around the neck can sustain damage and cause a great deal of pain.

The way that whiplash pain is treated depends on the situation and exact pain problems, but most whiplash patients respond extremely well to spinal adjustments, massage therapy, and corrective exercises. Dr. Munira Patel is skilled in all the chiropractic methods of pain relief and she promises patients that she is here find real pain relief.

We love to hear from our clients. Have you ever suffered from whiplash?
